Countdown To Craziness Was Revealing

Duke Basketball made its public debut in the Countdown to Craziness, with Team White beating Team Blue 29-24 on a game-winning three-pointer by Deron Rippey. The second play featured Dame Sarr driving to the basket for a layup, a positive sign for a player who struggled with that move last season. While the scrimmage wasn’t flawless early, it produced several standouts: Rippey and Sebastian Wilkins scored seven points each, and Wilkins added a breakaway steal and a dunk. Patrick Ngongba left briefly in a “scary moment,” though the report says it wasn’t serious, and notes his early passing. The next exhibition is set for next week against Belmont, when Duke expects clearer answers on rotations, including how Ngongba and Drew Scharnowski fit.
