Speaking on the Business of Motorsports podcast by Dirty Mo Media, Gibbs said the team puts nearly all earnings back into cars and continues to prioritize performance over profits. She tied the concern to her late husband, Coy Gibbs, who feared the organization could close without the family to operate it, especially after the team’s name recognition no longer guarantees survival. Gibbs said JGR’s spending is “probably unbalanced,” with nearly every available dollar directed to building faster cars, buying better technology, and hiring top talent. Unlike teams with outside business revenue, Gibbs said JGR relies purely on sponsorships, managing campaigns for 26 sponsors to stay funded. Coy Gibbs died in November 2022 at age 49, while Joe Gibbs is 85.
