Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff Could Make NFL History Vs. Saints

Jared Goff has a chance to move into the NFL’s all-time passing top 26 before Detroit’s 2026 opener even ends. Entering the Sept. 13 game vs. the New Orleans Saints, Goff has 39,622 career passing yards, putting him 172 yards behind Andy Dalton’s 39,793 for 26th place, per NFL.com. The Lions host at Ford Field at 1 p.m. ET. A 172-yard performance would move Goff ahead of Dalton, with Johnny Unitas (40,239) and Joe Montana (40,551) next. Dalton is still active and is on Philadelphia’s 2026 initial roster, but the Eagles play later Sunday.
