Don't think they realised the danger' - Boy, 15, after dramatic sea rescue
A dramatic sea rescue off the Isle of Skye saw a 15-year-old sailing enthusiast, Archie Law, praised for saving two men stranded on an inflatable dinghy. The RNLI commended Law’s “quick thinking” after he spotted the pair drifting further out at Broadford Bay on Saturday evening. Law said he went to shore, used binoculars to track them paddling in circles, and then took his own boat when the tide was in. He found the men without lifejackets or phones, with water rising inside the dinghy up to their heads. Kyle RNLI’s Andrew MacDonald said the intervention prevented a far more serious outcome and reminded people that inflatable toys should be kept for swimming pools, not open water. The incident’s details were discussed after Law returned to fishing on Sunday.
