Embarrassing,' 'That Wasn't a Boss Move' -- NFL Fans Get Vocal as Report Claims John Harbaugh Ignored Chain of Command For $105.8M Target

John Harbaugh’s reported outreach to Tennessee Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk has sparked backlash from some NFL fans, after The Athletic’s Jonathan Jones said the Ravens coach bypassed the chain of command in pursuit of All-Pro defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons. The report says Titans GM Mike Borgonzi had already told Giants executive Joe Schoen Simmons wasn’t available after the Giants’ earlier rejection by Tennessee. Instead, Harbaugh allegedly called Strunk directly, with the same message returned. Jones also cited a league source saying such a call breaches a “code” among primary decision-makers. Two days earlier, Tennessee traded Simmons, 29, to the Chicago Bears; New York is 4-2-1 and atop the NFC East.
