Emirates introduces 'conflict-related' cover in new travel insurance
Emirates has unveiled travel insurance that includes medical and disruption cover tied to conflict-related incidents. The plan is backed by airline-managed hotel accommodation and extended-stay support across disruption scenarios, including airspace closures. The coverage includes trip cancellation, baggage delay or loss, and unlimited medical expenses with worldwide emergency evacuation. Conflict-related medical expenses are reimbursed up to $25,000, plus a free trip extension of up to 30 days, with the offering described as an accessible premium.
Dubai-based Emirates frames the product as addressing growing demand for comprehensive protection beyond standard travel insurance. Travel Guard backs the scheme, with Russell Antonio, head of global business and partnerships, saying the collaboration seeks to set a new industry benchmark. Emirates noted the policy is not restricted by government travel advice, reflecting a proactive approach to risk management for travelers via Dubai. With summer travel surging, the airline says customers can book with added confidence when routing through Emirates.
