England football fans could face a fine of up to £2,500 tonight as officials and a vehicle expert warn against illegal driving behaviors during World Cup match buildup. Paul Gorry of Auto-Trail cautioned that checking scores, sending messages, or filming while driving using a phone, sat nav, tablet, or similar device is illegal. He said drivers caught doing so can receive six penalty points and a £200 fine. Gorry also advised motorists not to speed just before 9pm when they rush home for kickoff, noting the minimum penalty for speeding is a £100 fine and three points, with potential disqualification if penalty totals reach 12 within three years. He suggested using radio commentary and waiting for score updates instead.
