FHSAA to announce football playoff bracket, Open Division at 5 p.m. Nov. 6
The Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) will hold its football playoff bracket reveal show on Friday, Nov. 6 at 5 p.m., live on its YouTube channel. The program will announce teams qualified and playoff seedings for multiple postseason tournaments, most notably the traditional State Championship series for Classes 1A–6A and a new Open Division. Each class’s State Championship will include 32 teams. The Open Division will select the top eight teams statewide regardless of class; those teams will play pool games, then the top two from each pool will advance to a single-elimination tournament. The article notes past controversy: a judge temporarily lifted a postseason ban on The First Academy hours before last year’s show, while Carol City received a postseason ban after a postgame fight in Grayson, Georgia, and appealed at the buzzer. Carol City is No. 6 in MaxPreps’ Florida rankings.
