Florida football recruiting update, UF adds 3-star LB to 2027 class

Florida continues to shape its 2027 recruiting class under first-year coach Jon Sumrall, landing their 23rd pledge on June 18 as 3-star linebacker/safety Tre Geathers III committed to the Gators. Per 247Sports, UF's class is ranked fourth nationally, featuring one five-star and 15 four-star commits. Sumrall emphasized recruiting fits, stressing authentic relationships and consistent coaching.

Geathers chose Florida over offers from Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia, Arkansas and Boston College, and is listed at 6-2, 212 pounds. The class also includes Ellis McGaskin (6-1, 205), Jaydee Lane (6-3, 210) and Kamarion Johnson at ATH from Clinch County HS, adding depth at linebacker and versatile roles.
