GALLERY: Winning Friday Night Certainly Wasn't For the Birds

Wyoming’s turnaround continued with a Friday night win that the program’s own story frames as a shift away from disaster. After North Dakota State’s loss Saturday night in electric Albuquerque, the Cowboys moved alone into second place in the Mountain West with three conference games remaining. The article ties the change to a harsh stretch earlier in the season, including dropping the Bronze Boot, losing badly at Central Michigan, and posting a goose egg inside the Fargodome. Under center, the message became “Let it Rip.” Tyler Hughes led the rebound, snapping an eight-game road losing streak with a 16-13 overtime win at San Jose State, then earning offensive player of the week honors with 183 rushing yards and four touchdowns, before adding 146 yards on 12 carries against Air Force as Wyoming won 28-14 at home. A bye week follows, with UNLV looming next.
