Gaming Commission sues Kalshi overs requests for company data

The New York State Gaming Commission has filed a new lawsuit seeking internal information from prediction-market operator Kalshi related to its sports offerings and corporate structure, according to court filings. The action follows a cease-and-desist order sent about a year ago over Kalshi’s sports-related trades, which New York says amount to unlicensed gambling. Kalshi sued in federal court, but Judge Analisa Torres denied its request for a preliminary injunction in July. New York Attorney General Letitia James then brought additional lawsuits against Kalshi and later Polymarket. The commission says it subpoenaed Kalshi on July 31 for consumer activity, marketing records, and details of ownership and “self-certification” participants.
