Georgia just became Penn State's worst nightmare after another impressive flip
Georgia pulled off a major flip in the 2027 cycle by landing four-star wide receiver Jamir Dean from Penn State, a move that redefines the Bulldogs' board. Dean is the No. 126 recruit nationally and had committed to Penn State on May 1; he visited Georgia on May 29 before deciding to switch early Monday. He follows Georgia's earlier coup of Kennedee Jackson, an offensive tackle who left Florida for Georgia after 11 days as a Florida commit. Georgia now sits No. 14 in 247Sports' team rankings, a rapid rise from weeks earlier when it was outside the top 30.
Dean's acquisition, along with Jackson and other targets, signals Kirby Smart's recruiting reach as Georgia climbs toward a top-15 class. The program still faces competition from Penn State and others, but the current trajectory shows Georgia solidifying its standing while adding a high-upside receiver and a blue-chip tackle. With targets such as three-star EDGE Marcellus Young Casario still in play, the Bulldogs have room to balance offense and defense and continue their ascent in the 2027 cycle.
