Green Bay Packers Emerge as Potential Fit for 73-TD Playmaker
Green Bay Packers are being discussed as a potential fit for a 73-yard TD playmaker concept as the team weighs defensive questions and new offensive depth. After the Packers added names such as defensive tackle Javon Hargrave and linebacker Zaire Franklin in the 2026 offseason, they still face training-camp uncertainty. Defensively, Micah Parsons is expected to miss at least half the season, raising concerns about the pass rush, while the cornerback group is also seen as needing improvement. Offensively, running back depth is in question after Josh Jacobs was arrested earlier in the offseason, with no official legal or playing decision yet. The Sporting News’ Dharya Sharma suggested signing free agent Austin Ekeler as Jacobs insurance. In 2024 with the Washington Commanders, Ekeler played 12 games with 77 carries for 367 yards and four TDs, plus 35 catches for 366 yards. The idea is to pair Jacobs’ physical running with Ekeler’s receiving.
