Here are 4 can't-miss Week 1 Catholic Conference football games

Week 1 of the Catholic Conference is packed with matchups featuring recent state-level success and Division 1 commitments on both sides. The slate starts Thursday at 7 p.m. with Catholic Memorial (10-2) visiting Andover (7-5). Catholic Memorial comes off a streak that includes four Division 2 Super Bowl wins in the past five seasons, while Andover brings Marcus DeJesus, who totaled 1,237 all-purpose yards last year and averaged 7.2 yards per carry. Friday at 6 p.m., Bishop Feehan (10-2) hosts Xaverian (11-2). Xaverian returns Penn State commit quarterback Will Wood as a starter, while Feehan will use Xavier Baker at running back after nine touchdowns last season. The remaining games are St. John’s Prep at Springfield Central on Friday at 7 p.m. and BC High at Central Catholic at 7 p.m., also Friday.
