How does State Farm Arena host WNBA finals, NBA games on same day?

State Farm Arena in Atlanta is preparing for a logistical challenge: hosting the Atlanta Dream’s WNBA Finals Game 6 against the Golden State Valkyries later this week while the Atlanta Hawks also play the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday. The arena, with capacity for more than 15,000 and recognized globally by Billboard, typically draws over 2 million visitors annually. It previously managed a similar double-header during the Finals run on Oct. 24, when staff transformed the court from the Dream-Valkyries game ending around 3:30 p.m. to the Hawks game at 7:30 p.m. using about 2,500 workers. The next double-header is Thursday, with the Dream at 12:30 p.m. and the Hawks at 8 p.m.
