Iowa football well represented in NFL Top 100 players ranking

Iowa’s presence in the NFL continues to stand out as four former Hawkeyes have already appeared on NFL.com’s Top 100 players list entering the 2026 season. The ranking is voted on by players and is released in weekly increments, with 30 spots remaining after the early reveals. Linebacker Jack Campbell of the Detroit Lions debuted at No. 88, following a Pro Bowl and All-Pro season that included 176 tackles—second in the league—and 3.5 sacks previously, more than doubling his prior total. Tampa Bay’s Tristan Wirfs was next at No. 52, highlighted by his continued Pro Bowl streak and protection of Baker Mayfield after an early knee injury. George Kittle, San Francisco’s tight end, came in at No. 46 despite a torn Achilles limiting him to 11 games, but he still earned an overall 90.8 grade.
