Jayden Adams' Cause of Death: South Africa Speaks Out Weeks After World Cup Game
Jayden Adams’ death in South Africa has prompted renewed calls for restraint as his cause has not been confirmed. The 25-year-old player died less than two weeks after South Africa’s final FIFA World Cup appearance. The federation and minister of sport, arts and culture Gayton McKenzie, according to BBC reporting, urged fans and media to avoid speculation while his family and Mamelodi Sundowns receive privacy. McKenzie also said no official information had been released and that details would come later. At the World Cup, South Africa reached the Round of 32 before losing 1-0 to Canada on June 28. Adams appeared in all three group-stage matches, including the opener against Mexico. In the tournament, he was grieving the death of his grandmother, Marianna, who passed away hours before kickoff. He is survived by his partner Aqueelah Adendorf and their daughter, Allaia-Jayda Adams.
