Kentucky football finds a gem in Mississippi recruit

Kentucky’s defensive coordinator Jay Bateman found a new recruiting target early, going into Ole Miss and Mississippi State territory to evaluate film and then a player in Brooklyn, Miss. The result was Trevaughn Robinson, a 6-foot-1, 200-pound linebacker from Forrest County Agricultural who had no offers. Bateman made him the first. Robinson, a three-star linebacker ranked No. 66 at his position in the Rivals class of 2028, visited Kroger Field for Kentucky’s 34-17 win over Vanderbilt and now has the chance to see that defense firsthand. Through six games this season, he has 94 total tackles, 11 tackles for loss, two sacks and three pass breakups.
