Kings' Ben Simmons puts ESPN, other media on blast for 'false narratives'

Ben Simmons is back with the Sacramento Kings after signing a one-year, $3.5 million deal, following a year away from the NBA to recover from chronic ailments. The 30-year-old guard said the biggest hurdle was dealing with “outside noise,” including what he described as false narratives from ESPN and other outlets. In an interview with Prime’s Chris Haynes, Simmons argued that stories can change quickly and create perceptions that aren’t true, adding that his return involves overcoming significant physical issues from his time off. He returned to play after previously suiting up for the Los Angeles Clippers in April 2025, where he averaged 2.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.1 assists.
