Knicks fans can marvel at the NBA championship trophy -- now on display at the Museum of Natural History

Knicks fans get a rare chance to see the NBA championship trophy in person, with the Larry O’Brien Cup going on display at New York’s American Museum of Natural History (AMNH). Starting Monday, July 27, the 29-pound trophy, crafted by Tiffany & Co. in sterling silver and gold vermeil and shaped like a basketball dropping through a net, will be exhibited on the museum’s ground floor. The trophy will remain at the Upper West Side venue through January 3 as part of the AMNH exhibit “For the Win: Objects of Sports Excellence.” The museum will also host other sports relics, including the New York Liberty’s 2024 WNBA championship trophy and the NFL’s Vince Lombardi Trophy. Entry to the exhibit is included with general museum admission, letting visitors combine the display with museum attractions.
