Last-Place AFC Team Called 'Best Landing Spot' for Former Cowboys All-Pro
The Dallas Cowboys moved to part ways with former All-Pro cornerback Trevon Diggs as the 2025 regular season wound down, freeing him to sign elsewhere for 2026. After a $97 million, five-year extension signed in July 2023, Diggs played in 22 of 51 possible regular-season games over the next three seasons and was released before the end of the year. Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox labeled the Las Vegas Raiders as the “Best Landing Spot” for Diggs among top defensive free agents. Diggs was claimed off waivers by the Green Bay Packers on December 31, one day after Dallas cut him, before his eventual destination discussions. The article also cites missing eight games in 2025 following an at-home accident he later described as involving a television falling on his head. The Raiders could potentially gain value if Diggs plays alongside his brother, Stefon Diggs, with the Washington Commanders presented as another possible fit.
