Former ESPN anchor Linda Cohn responded to ex-colleague Cindy Brunson after Brunson questioned her sudden focus on Caitlin Clark and the WNBA. Cohn said the difference is that for 34 years at ESPN her views were constrained by network rules tied to her role at SportsCenter. She entered the conversation more publicly after reposting an ESPN analyst’s claim that Clark isn’t a top-four guard, and after calling out an episode of The Athletic Women’s Basketball Show that miscredited Minnesota Lynx’s Olivia Miles with Clark’s WNBA rookie assist record. Brunson had asked why she did not amplify the league while at ESPN.
