Lions' Jared Goff makes NFL history: Becomes only player to ever accomplish feat

Jared Goff made NFL history through the first four weeks of the 2026 season, becoming the only quarterback to reach at least 1,200 passing yards and zero turnovers while also starting with a record below .500. Even with the Detroit Lions struggling to convert production into wins, Goff continued piling up big numbers. In a Sunday loss to the Carolina Panthers, Detroit fell 32-26 despite Goff throwing 412 yards and a touchdown. The defeat left the Lions 2-2 after four games and marked the first game of the year in which he didn’t throw multiple touchdown passes. Overall, Goff finished the stretch with 1,214 yards, nine touchdowns, and no interceptions. Detroit travels to face the Arizona Cardinals in Week 5 before its Week 6 bye.
