LSU's Princewill Umanmielen served court papers before Ole Miss game

LSU edge rusher Princewill Umanmielen was served court papers on Tuesday, Sept. 15, four days before No. 7 LSU travels to face No. 9 Ole Miss in Week 3—his former school. The timing highlights ongoing tension between the programs after Lane Kiffin left Ole Miss for LSU before the College Football Playoff. Kiffin brought multiple former Ole Miss players, including Umanmielen, via the transfer portal. ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported LSU was unaware of Ole Miss officials attempting service. Ole Miss sued Umanmielen and new LSU offensive lineman Devin Harper Jr. on July 27, seeking nearly $1 million in combined penalties, alleging both had signed revenue-sharing contracts before entering the transfer portal and choosing LSU. Umanmielen has five sacks this season and began his career at Nebraska.
