Lucky punter turns £4 into £1million jackpot with 12-fold football corner accumulator - AOL

A 45-year-old football fan from Portsmouth hit a £1 million jackpot after placing a £4 bet on a 12-fold accumulator based on corner counts across 12 English Football League matches. The bettor beat odds of 249,345-1, earning £997,385. He wagered that each game would finish with more than 11.5 corners, and said he only discovered the win about half an hour after final whistles. A lifelong Aston Villa supporter, he planned to spend more time watching matches with his son, while earmarking money for his mortgage, a new car and a family holiday. His accumulator included 10 League One fixtures and two in the Championship, averaging 14 corners per match, with highlighted games such as Oxford United vs Bradford, Reading vs Barnsley, and Stevenage vs MK Dons.
