Monday Huddle: Kentucky's fresh start begins now
Kentucky kicks off Week 1 of the college football season with a “fresh start” under new head coach Will Stein at the Joe Craft Football Training Facility. The Wildcats open their first full slate after Week Zero, and this week’s schedule begins with Thursday games, followed by more action Friday and Saturday’s main slate. Kentucky faces a demanding stretch that includes nine SEC games as the league shifts to its expanded scheduling model. The program’s rebuild since Stein’s hiring in December included losing four to the draft and 13 to other power conferences, followed by 35 college transfers, four junior college transfers, and 12 high school signees. On Saturday, first-year starters are listed at multiple positions, alongside a new offense style and a more aggressive defensive front.
