Named best landing spot for veteran pass rusher Kyle Van Noy
San Francisco’s offseason focus on the pass rush is tied to recent injuries and roster moves, and Bleacher Report highlighted Kyle Van Noy as a potential fit. The 49ers finished last season with an NFL-low 20 sacks, a total affected by the season-ending ACL injury to star pass rusher Nick Bosa, and by a torn ACL suffered by first-round rookie Mykel Williams before he could contribute. San Francisco acquired defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa in a trade and selected edge rusher Romello Height in the third round and defensive tackle Gracen Halton in the fourth of the NFL Draft. Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox called Van Noy an ideal landing spot, citing 23.5 sacks and 54 quarterback pressures over three seasons with the Baltimore Ravens. Van Noy also said he would welcome joining the 49ers to play alongside All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner.
