NBA GM Survey: 48 questions before new season

In the NBA’s annual GM Survey, San Antonio Spurs were voted both the “team of the future” and the “team of the present,” with Victor Wembanyama leading multiple categories. The 25th edition polled general managers on 48 questions about teams, players, coaches and offseason moves; GMs were not allowed to vote for their own organization or personnel. The Spurs received 50% of votes to win the 2027 NBA Finals, ahead of the Oklahoma City Thunder at 43%. For the 2026-27 Kia MVP, Wembanyama topped the ballot with 77%, followed by Nikola Jokić (10%) and Anthony Edwards (7%). He also earned the most votes for who fans should start a franchise with (93%) and who forces opponents’ adjustments (47%).
