NBA, sportsbooks reportedly agree to ban multiple types of bets
The NBA will bar several kinds of wagers that officials say could be easier targets for conspirators, according to a report by The Associated Press. On Friday, the league sent a memo to sportsbook partners instructing them to stop offering bets that combine a single player’s under with parlay structures. The NBA also directed partners to end wagers on opening-tip winners, specific missed shots, and under bets for players projected to play fewer than 12 minutes. The memo comes after federal investigations involving Terry Rozier and Jontay Porter that included parlay wagers on individual players’ unders. A separate memo to franchises outlined updated integrity measures, including in-person training led by Charles Tillman and upgrades to an internal AI surveillance system.
