NBA Summer League: Bulls upend Wizards to earn 1st win in Vegas

The Chicago Bulls snapped out of a slow start in NBA Summer League action by defeating the Washington Wizards 99-87 on Tuesday at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. Chicago improved to 1-2, while Washington fell to 2-1. The Bulls outscored the Wizards by at least five points in each of the final three quarters, using a late surge to push their lead to as much as 20 in the fourth. The teams were closely contested early, with six ties and seven lead changes through the first 30 minutes. Chicago shot 49% from the field and 35% from three, limiting Washington to 42% overall and 27% from long range. Jaylin Sellers led with 24 points plus three assists and three steals. Tobe Awaka added 14 points, 10 rebounds, three steals and two blocks. Caleb Wilson had 19 points and eight rebounds, while Donovan Atwell scored 19 off the bench. Washington was led by Chris Livingston’s 21 points and four rebounds. Up next, Chicago hosts the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday, while Washington plays the LA Clippers on Wednesday.
