Nearly 3 Years Later, Trice Still Trying to Launch NFL Career
Nearly three years after leaving the University of Washington, Bralen Trice remains determined to launch an NFL career despite a string of injuries. The former Husky edge rusher last appeared in the College Football Playoff national championship against Michigan in 2024 and, since then, has lost two NFL seasons to knee injuries with the Atlanta Falcons, who drafted him in the third round. He tore the ACL of his left knee during the 2024 exhibition and re-injured it 12 months later in training camp, limiting opportunities. OTAs have seen him practice in a limited capacity as he pursues a comeback. Trice arrived at UW as a standout recruit and became one of the program's most productive defenders, with 101 career tackles, 28.5 for loss and 18 sacks. He was MVP defensivo of the Alamo Bowl 2022 and Sugar Bowl 2024, against Texas, and earned All-Pac-12 first-team honors plus a third-team All-America recognition. He trained with UW teammates Michael Penix Jr., Anterio Thompson and John Timu, and the Huskies alumni network remains a support as he pursues another NFL chance.
