New faces in new places: The NFL's top 50 most impactful offseason acquisitions -- including rookies

With NFL training camps underway, ESPN writer Matt Bowen has released his annual ranking of the most impactful Year 1 offseason acquisitions for players joining new teams in 2026. Bowen says the list strips away contract figures and draft capital to focus on on-field effect, covering moves involving 27 teams. Topping the rankings again is a Rams acquisition: EDGE Myles Garrett, traded to Los Angeles. Garrett, the prior season’s Defensive Player of the Year, set the league’s single-season sack record with 23. Next are A.J. Brown to the New England Patriots, plus Trent McDuffie traded to the Rams, and Dexter Lawrence II to the Cincinnati Bengals.
