The report says the transfer is effectively agreed, with Newcastle finalising the remaining details and Manzambi set to sign a long-term contract. Newcastle are described as favourites, after Aston Villa were also reported to be in the race following Amadou Onana’s ACL injury during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Manzambi scored three goals and provided two assists at this summer’s tournament, and last season he recorded five goals and four assists in 27 Bundesliga appearances. He is currently sidelined for Switzerland. Manzambi’s national team will face Argentina in the quarter-finals after beating Colombia on penalties.
