NFL Drops Hammer With Punishment Over New York Giants Game

The NFL has issued fines and potential appeals following Week 7 after New York’s 27-21 win over the Houston Texans at NRG Stadium. Houston safety Ja’Marcus Ingram was penalized for unnecessary roughness in the second quarter, a play that resulted in a 15-yard penalty for the Giants and a $6,361 fine. Teammate M.J. Stewart received an $11,667 fine for a hip-drop tackle in the fourth quarter, even though the play was not flagged during the game. New York also faced punishment: running back Cam Skattebo was fined $7,073 for illegal use of his helmet. Ingram and Stewart can appeal their cases through the NFL/NFLPA process.
