NFL injury roundup: Lamar Jackson hurts ankle, star WRs go down
Lamar Jackson’s left ankle injury left the Baltimore Ravens with major uncertainty after he missed the second half of their 24-18 win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. NFL Network reported he was believed day-to-day; Jackson wore a protective boot as he left the stadium. Ravens coach Jesse Minter said Jackson avoided a major injury and suggested he had “some talks” about returning. Jackson appeared to roll his ankle trying to escape a sack by Jermaine Johnson II. Tyler Huntley replaced him at halftime after Jackson finished 15 of 20 for 222 yards and two TDs. Baltimore also lost Marlon Humphrey (calf), Andrew Vorhees (foot) and Durham Smythe (Achilles). Elsewhere in London, Marcus Mariota was ruled out at halftime for a right knee injury against the Colts, while Washington also lost return specialist Jaylin Lane. Cincinnati’s Ja’Marr Chase exited with a concussion and Tee Higgins with an adductor injury. The Chiefs saw Rashee Rice leave with a hamstring issue, and Tyquan Thornton suffer a dislocated ankle.
