NFL suspends 49ers owner Jed York for six games, issues $500K fine

The NFL has suspended San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York for six games and fined him $500,000 for violating its personal conduct policy. York missed the 49ers’ first three regular-season games and did not attend league meetings. The league said those absences count toward the suspension, and York may return on Oct. 20. The discipline follows York’s August arrest in East Palestine, Ohio, on suspicion of prostitution. A day later, he pleaded no contest to amended disorderly conduct and possessing criminal tools, receiving a one-day jail sentence for each count.
