Ocean View football too strong for Rancho Alamitos in battle for league title

Ocean View took control immediately and dominated Rancho Alamitos 33-0 on Friday night, winning the Sigma League football title for the first time since spring 2021. With a 9-1 overall record and a 5-0 league mark, the Seahawks handed the previously undefeated Vaqueros (9-1, 4-1) their first loss of the season. Running back Trevor Vaivao starred with 214 rushing yards and two touchdowns, starting the scoring with a 75-yard run on Ocean View’s second play from scrimmage. Dylan Morales added a rushing TD in the first quarter, and QB Isaac Young connected with Gregory Gates on a 26-yard pass for a score to make it 19-0. Ocean View’s defense capped the dominance with three interceptions, as the team improved its championship expectations under coach Daniel Hernandez.
