One of Miami's stars injured in practice, uncertain vs. Notre Dame

Notre Dame is managing its own injury list heading into a matchup with Miami, and a report suggests the Hurricanes may face a problem too. The Irish have already ruled out linebacker Drayk Bowen, while safety Brauntae Johnson hasn’t healed enough to return. Defensive lineman Francis Brewu and Jason Onye are listed as questionable for the game. For Miami, ESPN’s Pete Thamel reports that star wide receiver Malachi Toney is dealing with an injured ankle and his status for Saturday against Notre Dame is uncertain. Toney has 1,027 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns this fall and is the primary target for quarterback Darian Mensah, with 73 receptions—45 more than his No. 2 option, Cooper Barkate.
