xCruzo Brief
Outdoor fishing and wildlife events are gearing up across upstate New York and Pennsylvania. On the Salmon River near Pulaski, New York, an influx of salmon leaving Lake Ontario has produced the best salmon action to date, with anglers also finding success targeting steelhead, especially from drift boats. Trolling near the mouth of the Oswego River is turning up fresh fish, while most activity is farther upstream and is expected to stay productive into next week. A free Salmon River map is available by email and updates can be requested via a hotline. In Pennsylvania, Hawk Mountain’s Autumn Hawk Count highlighted weather-driven migration patterns after a Nor’easter.
