Over 200 influencers claim RM543,000 in unpaid fees from marketing platform

More than 200 content creators in Malaysia report losses after a marketing platform allegedly failed to pay outstanding fees totaling about RM543,000, according to MCA Federal Territories Legal Bureau chief Victor Teoh. The platform acted as an intermediary between brands and creators to promote products on social media, and victims describe completing assignments with no payment despite withdrawals showing processed status. Ng Yeen Theng, 31, joined in June last year and completed about 20 campaigns earning RM10,074.08, while Gg Unnie, 34, says she has RM19,000 outstanding since late 2024. Several victims have filed police reports, including Ng at Pandan Indah station on June 16, seeking resolution and full settlement. Authorities are expected to investigate as creators press for explanations and redress.
