Palestine Football Association denies reported FIFA youth match against Israel - AOL

The Palestine Football Association denied reports that FIFA planned an under-15 match against Israel as the opening fixture of a new annual youth tournament open to 211 member associations, including Russia. The PFA said it has not received any official communication from FIFA and rejects matches with what it calls an occupying power targeting Palestinian athletes and sports infrastructure. FIFA president Gianni Infantino has pushed youth competitions as development, and sought a handshake moment between PFA president Jibril Rajoub and Israel's Basim Sheikh Suliman at the Vancouver FIFA congress. The PFA notes that more than 1,000 Palestinian athletes have been killed in the last three years.
