Park Hang-seo apologized after South Korea’s World Cup campaign ended with a group-stage exit, following the team’s third-place finish in Group A. He made the remarks at an official press conference on the 29th (Korean time) at the Chivas Verde Valle Training Center in Sapopan near Guadalajara, Mexico, reading a prepared statement and bowing on behalf of the Korea Football Association (KFA). South Korea finished with one win and two losses for 3 points, beating the Czech Republic 2-1 in their opening match before losing 0-1 to Mexico and 0-1 to South Africa. That results in no direct Round of 32 spot, forcing them to pursue a third-place wild card that did not materialize. Park cited the need for the KFA to reflect, self-examine, and rebuild for the future.
