Perkins: Dolphins rookies have mixed showing in debut vs. Raiders

Rookie lineman Kadyn Proctor, the Miami Dolphins’ No. 12 draft pick, said the speed of the NFL felt different in his debut Sunday, a 27-13 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. Proctor, who will be compared to Tampa Bay’s Rueben Bain, praised matchups against Maxx Crosby and Kwity Paye and said he played “pretty well,” adding that the pace was the main adjustment. While Proctor, linebacker Jacob Rodriguez and tight end Will Kacmarek showed promise, other rookies struggled. Cornerback Chris Johnson was targeted 11 times by Kirk Cousins and had six completions; he finished second on the team with 11 tackles and two passes defended. Rodriguez led with 14 tackles in a game-high effort.
