Purdue basketball center gets brotherly reunion with Indy Classic opponent
Purdue men’s basketball will return to the Indy Classic and add a notable family matchup at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Dec. 19. The Boilermakers will face Colorado, completing their nonconference schedule, a departure from the program’s recent back-to-back SEC opponents of Texas A&M in 2024 and Auburn in 2025. Colorado is coached by Tad Boyle, who has six NCAA Tournament appearances and five NIT bids in 16 seasons, totaling 320 wins and coming off a 17-16 record. The special storyline features Purdue center Daniel Jacobsen (7-foot-2) going up against his brother, Colorado freshman Eric Jacobsen (6-11). The article notes that times and television information are to be announced. In the other Indy Classic game, Butler will play Georgia Tech. Purdue’s nonconference also includes Tennessee on Dec. 12, Gonzaga in Las Vegas on Nov. 2, and Iowa State in a home-and-home series.
