Qatar's Sports Minister, Madibo Visit Canada's Injured Kone says Qatar’s sports minister and national team player Assim Madibo visited Canada midfielder Ismael Kone in Canada after he was injured during their World Cup match. Qatar lost 6-0 to Canada in their Group B clash, in which Kone suffered a broken leg after a tackle by Madibo late in the second half. The Qatar Football Association said Kone subsequently underwent surgery. Qatar’s governing body also reported the visit included a meeting with the President of the Canadian Soccer Association. Photos shared by the association showed Madibo and Kone together, with Kone seated in a wheelchair. Qatar’s next Group B match is against Bosnia and Herzegovina, while Canada plays Switzerland.
