Rakuten Viki and Imaginus to Co-Produce New Animated K-Drama, The Painted Soul

Rakuten Viki and Imaginus announced The Painted Soul, a new 10-episode Korean animated series blending fantasy and romance. Directed by Choi Junbae (Mouse, Stealer: The Treasure Keeper), the show will debut exclusively on Viki starting October 21 across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Oceania, India, and Southeast Asia. The story follows apprentice spirit painter Yun Hwa, who accidentally frees Seol Jin, a mysterious man sealed inside a painting for decades. A legend claims anyone who meets his gaze is doomed, forcing Yun Hwa to decide whether her growing feelings are fear or something more. The concept used AI and other technologies to develop the storytelling. Viki positions the series as a global expansion of its animation slate.
