Revenge for Roosters as star duo sent out NRLW winners
The Roosters avenged last year’s Grand Final loss with a dominant NRLW decider, winning as they remained undefeated in 2026 and secured their third premiership. Coached by John Strange, Brisbane had never previously lost a decider, but committed errors and turnovers as the Tricolours controlled the match from the start. Brisbane’s Ali Brigginshaw’s retirement capped a difficult end to her career. The Roosters led 26-0 at halftime after scoring six tries, setting what the report describes as the largest advantage in NRLW decider history, before adding further pressure to blow past the Broncos. Elliott won a fifth title across three clubs, joining Baxter in retirement. Kelleher’s bombs repeatedly troubled Brisbane’s back five, while Aiken delivered a big first half—scoring once and assisting twice. Kelleher also produced an accurate cross-field kick for Parker’s opening try in a clinical opening sequence.
