Robbins dedicates youth football field in memory of Rocky Clark

The Robbins CalPark Eagles celebrated the opening of the Rocky Clark Legacy Field, a $2 million synthetic turf facility in Robbins, named in memory of Rocky Clark. The ribbon-cutting drew more than 150 attendees at 3050 Clair Blvd, where Kamari Allen, an eighth grader, tested the field and praised its home-field advantage. Rocky Clark’s story underscored community resilience; he suffered a paralyzing spinal injury in 2000, passed away in 2012, and inspired the Rocky Law guaranteeing up to $3 million for catastrophic injuries in Illinois high schools. Emery Moorehead, a former Chicago Bears tight end, attended and recalled Clark’s impact, including gifts and recognitions he received during his life. Local leaders and groups, including Darren Bryant and the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District, helped bring the project to life as Robbins aimed to plant a lasting sports legacy for Eisenhower High School and its athletes.
