Satterfield expects surge of NFL calls after Sorsby says he will apply for supplemental draft
Scott Satterfield expects a surge of NFL inquiries after Brendan Sorsby said he will apply for the NFL supplemental draft instead of playing for Texas Tech this fall. The University of Cincinnati coach said the questions were already frequent, particularly after Sorsby transferred to Texas Tech and news about his gambling addiction became public. Satterfield believes that once the decision is widely known, teams will increase requests over the coming weeks, with attention shifting toward personal details as well as football. The decision follows a week of legal drama in which a Texas judge granted a temporary injunction to allow Sorsby to play despite being declared ineligible by the NCAA for wagering on college sports, including bets made while at Indiana. Sorsby’s senior-season numbers at Texas Tech included 2,800 passing yards and 27 touchdowns with five interceptions, plus 580 rushing yards and nine touchdowns.
