SBCC Football Suffers 54-21 Loss to No. 18 Pasadena

Santa Barbara City College’s football team was beaten 54-21 on the road Saturday night by No. 18 Pasadena. The Vaqueros kept pace in three of the game’s four quarters, but Pasadena’s second-quarter surge created a two-possession deficit that quickly became a rout. After a 15-play drive stalled at the 16-yard line, Santa Barbara forced a field goal; it was 6-0 after another kick later in the first. Pasadena scored on a 53-yard TD and following kickoff fumble, then piled on to make it 34-0. Santa Barbara got big plays late, including a 99-yard pick-six by Eli Gebbie and a 48-yard TD from Tua Rojas to Dominic Dadkhah, before Pasadena closed it out. Linebacker Dean Davis led with 10 tackles. QB Brooks Trimmer went 11-for-23 for 102 yards; neither QB threw an interception. Next week, Santa Barbara hosts Cerritos on Sept. 12 at 6 p.m.
